TINA’S STORY
Beginnings
Growing up, we had one dog which was, of course, part of the family. My mom often said, “Don’t you wish Corky could talk and that we knew what he was thinking? I bet we’d find out about things that would surprise us, even when we aren’t home.” I always remember that. Then, one day when I was young, I realized that something extra was going on with me and the animals in my life. We shared a very special and sensitive bond and connection. I could sense when they needed empathy and emotional support, and they knew when I, or someone close to me, needed the same. I’ve had communications and internalized experiences with many species including pets and wildlife all of my life
A Paradigm Shift
I rescued my first greyhound, Cleopatra, in 2000. Connecting and listening to her helped me understand how lonely she was for four-legged companionship. You see, greyhounds live in social packs from the day they are born. I wondered whether I should adopt another greyhound so she’d have a companion. Right around that time, I boarded Cleo at the same adoption rescue while on vacation. When I came to pick her up, a large, very handsome male greyhound came bursting out of his cage, and literally latched onto me like Velcro. The rescue caretaker was shocked. She said that this handsome dog that everyone wanted to meet hadn’t come out of his cage willingly for the three months; he had been with her because he was shy, had been abused, and was terrified of people. I came back later that week and took him home. He adopted me.It was then that all of the human and animal lives in our home changed forever.
This quiet, submissive boy would be a great teacher of deep soul animal communication. Cleopatra was the extrovert, but Caesar, the new male, was extremely introverted, and mentally closed up with hidden emotions that lingered from his unfortunate past. With Cleo’s guidance and help, Caesar and I began to communicate. We understood each other, and he taught me how to improve his relationships with humans and animals -- and how I could improve my relationships with animals, too. I learned so much about how animals think and how their views of their world are completely different than those of humans.
Sharing gifts today
More than 20 years later I haven’t looked back. I now always have at least two rescues, and they help me release my gifts. In 2010 I opened a pet care and management business, and have helped many clients and their pets deeply connect to identify and address the root causes of many different issues and concerns and learn valuable life lessons. Please see my pet care company, WALK SIT STAY, at www.doggiestay.com. Over the last few years, I have also helped many clients and their beloved pets say goodbye to each other by communicating mutual messages of love and peace. The special bond between people and their pets is amplified during this time, so a feeling of closure and a bridge of understanding can be a tremendous gift amidst the sadness of having to say goodbye.
